SUMMARY
Staying in the Game
ReBrain is a mobile application concept for Alzheimer’s patients inspired by the movie Memento.
The app stores the patients’ essential information enabling them to remember family, friends, places and even hobbies. It contains information cards that make things simple and accessible for patients. The app reminds the patient to take their medicines and even monitors their movements.
A version of the app is made for the carers as well, to monitor the patient and enable the patient to live and move around independently while still keeping a close eye on them.
PROBLEM
Who am I?
Most Alzheimer’s patients become dependent and mostly clueless about themselves, their past, their family, their friends, etc and become scared when interacting with anyone they do not remember.
They are usually required to move into a senior care facility or with full time home hospice care.
Technology has allowed us to solve this problem of interdependence by enabling the patients with a long term solution. It basically takes care of all the problems that Alzheimers patients face on a daily basis. The app has the potential of becoming the patient’s virtual caretaker.
